Shaheen Afridi dropped from Pakistan squad, Gillespie reveals reason

Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi to be dropped from Pakistan squad for the 2-match test series against Bangladesh starting next month. Rumors are circulating around that Shaheen has been dropped from the squad as ‘punishment’ for his misbehave with coach Muhammad Yousuf.

Shaheen was recently alleged for misbehaving with coaches in a report by head coach Garry Kristen. As per sources, Shaheen had a heated argument with Muhmmad Yousuf and also had exchanged heated words with the coach.

According to sources, the issue was later resolved and the pacer also apologized to batting coach, but the matter is still in headlines and PCB is considering for a punishment to Shaheen Afridi for his misconduct to avoid such cases in future and to make a statement  for the players to respect their coaches.

Is Shaheen Afridi really being dropped from Pakistan squad due to misbehavior?

Pakistan red-ball Coach Jason Gillespie revealed that Shaheen will not be the part of Pakistan squad for Bangladesh series due to expected birth of his first child.

He said, we have talked to Shaheen and have allowed him if he is unavailable for the Pakistan test squad and rest (if he wants to).

Gillespie’s statement suggests there is nothing like any ‘punishment ‘ but just a normal personal reason that Shaheen is being dropped from the squad and that too on his own choice.

Shaheen and his wife are expecting their first child during the Pakistan vs Bangladesh series. due to that, Shaheen wants to spend time with his wife and will not be available for the test series against Bangladesh.
